Mira Furlan was a Yugoslavian/Croatian-born actress and singer.
She was perhaps best known for her role as the Minbari Ambassador Delenn in all five seasons of the the science fiction television series Babylon 5, and as Danielle Rousseau in the ABC series Lost.
Furlan was a graduate of the Academy for Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and began her acting career in Yugoslavian film and television. In the early 1990s, she fled the turmoil of her home country and moved to New York City, becoming a member of the Actors Studio. After lending her voice to Spider-Man: The Animated Series, she landed Babylon 5 and would continue to work on both American and European projects.
She guest starred in NCIS, Law & Order: LA, had a recurring role in Just Add Magic, and appeared in multiple award-winning films including When Father Was Away on Business (1985) and The Abandoned (2010).
Furlan died on January 20, 2021, in Los Angeles, California. She was 65.
