Mitch Margo was an American singer and songwriter.

Margo was a professional recording artist, best known as a member of The Tokens, a vocal group best known for its hit recording of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," which rose to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for three weeks in 1961. Other hits by The Tokens include: "Tonight I Fell In Love" (which Mitch Margo co-wrote), "I Hear Trumpets Blow" (written by Mitch Margo), "He’s In Town,” and "Portrait of My Love.”

With The Tokens, Margo made numerous appearances on television throughout the 1960s, including American Bandstand, Where The Action Is, and The Mike Douglas Show.

Margo played several instruments and composed music for a 1988 NBC television film, Goddess of Love, starring Vanna White as Venus.

Margo died November 24, 2017, in Studio City, CA. He was 70.
