Patsy Swayze, a choreographer, dance teacher and the mother of the late Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze, died September 16, 2013, at her home in Simi Valley, California. She was 86.
Her notable feats included teaching John Travolta the Texas two-step for Urban Cowboy (1980) and serving as the choreographer on two of her son’s films — Letters From a Killer (1998) and One Last Dance (2003).
Her television credits included the made-for-TV movies Problem Child 3: Junior in Love and Picnic.
She also taught numerous film, television and theater performers, including Debbie Allen, Randy Quaid, Jaclyn Smith, Tommy Tune.
