Peter Grad was a television executive and former president of MTM studios.

Grad attended the University of Pennsylvania and tried his hand at engineering, finance, acting and producing before embarking on his career as an executive. His production credits included the Broadway plays Minnie’s Boys, starring Shelley Winters, and Hurry, Harry.

He began his TV career at Paramount Television before moving to 20th Century Fox Television and, finally, to MTM. Over the years, he helped to develop such series as NBC’s L.A. Law, ABC’s The Fall Guy and Mr. Belvedere and CBS’ Evening Shade.

Grad later co-founded the "A Night at Sardi’s" fundraiser for Alzheimer’s research with his wife Laurie, daughter of acclaimed Broadway playwright Abe Burrows, who died from the disease. The event helped generate $27 million in donations for the Alzheimer’s Association over the past 23 years.

His son, Nicholas Grad, is president of original programming and production at FX Networks and his daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bernstein, is executive vice president at Endemol Shine Productions. In addition, his brother-in-law is the renowned television director and 10-time Emmy winner James Burrows.

Grad died August 1, 2015, in Vail, Colorado. He was 75.
