Philip Margo was an American musician.

A longtime member of the singing group The Tokens, Margo is perhaps best known for his vocals on the hit sone "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

In addition to singing, Margo was also a drummer. With the Tokens, he appeared on several television programs, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and The Tracey Ullman Show.

Turning his hand to writing, Margo has credits for writing for television series including The Love Boat: A Valentine Voyage, Different Strokes, Who's the Boss, Benson, and Small Wonder.

Margo died November 13, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. He was 79.
