Raymond Allen was an American film and television actor.

Best known for his role as Uncle Woodrow 'Woody' Anderson on the television series Sanford and Son, Allen also had recurring roles in Good Times, as Ned the Wino, and Starsky and Hutch, as mechanic Merl The Earl.

Allen also guest starred on What's Happening!, The Love Boat, and The Jeffersons.

He appeared on the big screen in Fight the Ghost (1946), Mean Mother (1973), Darktown Strutters (1975), in the made-for-TV movie Gus Brown and Midnight Brewster (1985), and as himself in the documentary Wattstax (1973).

Allen died August 10, 2020, in California. He was 91.
