Rick Edelstein was a writer and director who worked on numerous television series. He served as a writer on over 300 episodes of both Bright Promise and How to Survive a Marriage, and nearly 350 episodes of The Doctors. Edelstein wrote episodes of other series including The Outsider, Executive Suite, Starsky and Hutch, Code Red and The Colbys. In addition to series, he also wrote television movies including "The Forty-Eight Hour Mile" and "Beach Patrol."

Edelstein served as a director on Bright Promise, The Doctors, The Corner Bar, Sanford and Son, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and Starsky and Hutch.
