Robert Pietranton served as Senior Vice President, Publicity & Communications, Warner Bros. Television Group, since summer 2021. He reported to Rebecca Marks, Executive Vice President, Publicity, Communications, and Social Media, WBTVG.
In this role, Pietranton worked closely with Marks on strategic business communications related to scripted programming produced by Warner Bros. Television, one of the entertainment industry's leading suppliers of original series. He also supported Marks and the communications leadership team on strategic communications for unscripted and animated programming. As of November 2025, Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, and Warner Bros. Animation are producing more than 80 series for over 20 platforms, including Warner Bros. Discovery's HBO and HBO Max, eternal streaming services, broadcast networks, cable, local stations and digital platforms.
During his 20+ year tenure, he worked on many popular and critically acclaimed series including Abbott Elementary, All American, The Bachelor franchise, The Big Bang Theory, the DC Arrow-verse, ER, Extra, Fringe, Gossip Girl, The Jennifer Hudson Show, The Mentalist, Mom, The Pitt, Riverdale, Smallville, Shameless, Shrinking, Supernatural, Running Point, Ted Lasso, Two and a Half Men, The Voice, and The West Wing, among many others.
He also oversaw the written communications team, which provides program-related support to all divisions of WBTVG as well as Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing, Warner Bros. Discovery Television Distribution, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and others. He spearheaded communications related to scripted program development and casting; worked on business announcements, executive communications, and crisis communications; collaborated with the Studio's streaming, network, and cable partners on program-related business communications; and supported the publicity and social media department on communications efforts related to special initiatives, major events, and awards.
Pietranton joined Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing in February 2006 as Director, Publicity, and was promoted to Executive Director, Publicity & Written Communications, in January 2008, and to Vice President, Publicity & Communications, in March 2012.
Before joining the Studio, Pietranton previously served as Vice President, Media Relations, at Sony Pictures Television; was the lead publicity and communications executive at DreamWorks Television; and was Director, Movies, Miniseries & Specials – Electronic Publicity, at NBC Entertainment.
He was a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He was a member of the Television Academy.
