Robert Silberling was a television executive and producer known for his work on the first season of the long-running series Baywatch.

Silberling began his film career at the U.S. Information Agency in Washington, D.C., where he produced documentaries, including Nine From Little Rock (1964) and John F. Kennedy: Years of Lightning, Day of Drums (1965).

After relocating to Los Angeles, he became an executive at ABC and, later, CBS, where he worked from 1976-1988.

He then became a producer. In addition to Baywatch, his credits included the telefilms Outback Bound (1988) and The Face on the Milk Carton (1995).

His son, Brad Silberling, is the director of such feature films as Casper and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.
