Robert Towne was a writer and producer who began his career in television and went on to write films. He wrote episodes of television series including The Llyod Bridges Show, The Outer Limits, Breaking Point, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Welcome to the Basement. He produced several episodes of the hit series Mad Men along with other films including "Bedroom Window" and "Personal Best." Towne is widely recognized for writing movies including "Chinatown," The Last Detail," "Tequila Sunrise," "Mission: Impossible," "Mission Impossible II" and "Ask the Dust."
