Ron Moody was a British actor best known for his role as Fagin, the leader of a gang of child pickpockets, in the movie musical Oliver! The role garnered him an Oscar nomination, and both Golden Globe and BAFTA wins for best actor.

Moody first played Fagin in a 1960 West End production of musical the adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist. He took on the role again in the 1968 film, and again in a 1984 Broadway revival, for which he scored a Tony nomination. The film was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won five, including the Oscars for best picture and best director, Carol Reed.

In addition to his lengthy resume in British productions, Moody appeared in several American television series, including The Avengers, Gunsmoke, Starsky and Hutch, Hart to Hart, Highway to Heaven and Murder, She Wrote.

Moody died June 11, 2015, in London, England. He was 91.
