Ronnie Taylor was a British camera operator and cinematographer.
Taylor was a camera operator on the original Star Wars, as well as the films Room at the Top (with Laurence Harvey), Young Winston (with Robert Shaw), Phantom of the Paradise (with Paul Williams), Barry Lyndon (with Ryan O’Neal), The Return of a Man Called Horse (with Richard Harris), The Island of Dr. Moreau (with Burt Lancaster), and Who’ll Stop the Rain (with Nick Nolte).
Taylor won an Oscar in 1983 for Best Cinematography for his work on the epic biopic, Gandhi, which starred Ben Kingsley.
Taylor also did some work in television, including episodes of The Avengers, and a 1979 made-for-TV remake of All Quiet on the Western Front.
Taylor died August 3, 2018, in Ibiza, Spain. He was 93.
