Ruth Ashton Taylor was an American television newscaster and journalist, known to be the first female newscaster on television in Los Angeles. She was awarded a lifetime achievement Emmy in 1982 in recognition of her work. Taylor reported on historic moments and interviewed memorable individuals throughout her career of over 50 years.
