Scott Lew was a writer, producer and director who fought a lengthy battle with ALS. He completed his final script by twitching his mouth to type one letter at a time.

Lew penned the film Bickford Shmeckler’s Cool Ideas, starring Patrick Fugit, Olivia Wilde, John Cho and Matthew Lillard, and Sexy Evil Genius, starring Seth Green and Katee Sackhoff.

Additionally, he wrote an episode of The Dead Zone, a USA series starring Anthony Michael Hall, and based on the novel by Stephen King. He also appeared on an episode of Reno 911!

Lew died February 25, 2017, in Los Angeles. He was 48.
