Stacy Title was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer.
Title’s first produced work, the 1993 short film Down on the Waterfront, earned an Oscar nomination in 1994.
She went on to direct feature films such as The Last Supper (with Cameron Diaz), Let the Devil Wear Black (with Jacqueline Bisset and Mary Louise Parker), and Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror. Her first financial success came with the 2017 film The Bye Bye Man.
Title was set to direct one final movie, Walking Time Bomb (with Jason Alexander, Cary Elwes, and Bob Odenkirk), but the film did not get made. Most recently, Title and her husband, writer/producer Jonathan Penner, were developing a King Kong television series.
Title died January 11, 2021. She was 56.
