Stephanie Jenkins has been making historical documentaries for fifteen years, primarily as an archival producer and producer with Ken Burns. Her work with Florentine Films includes Muhammad Ali (2021), East Lake Meadows: A Public Housing Story (2020), Jackie Robinson (2014), and The Central Park Five (2012). She has also contributed research to multiple outlets including The New York Times Op Docs series, Radiolab, This American Life, as well as multiple independent documentaries.
In 2023 she co-founded the Archival Producers Alliance, and co-wrote Best Practices for Use of Generative AI in Documentaries. The APA is working closely with non-fiction mediamakers and archivists to protect the historic record in the age of Generative AI. She has been an Impact Partners Producers Fellow, and was in the 2024-2025 class of DOC NYC's New Leaders; and is a member of multiple organizations including ATAS, PGA, Video Consortium and DPA.
In 2026, she became a governor the Television Academy for the Documentary Programming Peer Group.
