Steve Carver was an American film and television director.
He is perhaps best known for producing and directing the film Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), starring Chuck Norris and David Carradine. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Cornell University, Carver landed a job as a cameraman for the Wide World of Sports and soon after began making his own documentaries and short films
When producer and director Roger Corman saw Carver's short The Tell-Tale Heart (1971), he hired Carver to work at New World Pictures where he cut trailers and wrote a number of scripts for Corman. Carver then directed The Arena (1974) and would go on to helm a number of other films including Capone (1975), Drum (1976), Fast Charlie...the Moonbeam Rider (1979), An Eye for an Eye (1981), Bulletproof (1987), River of Death (1989), and Dead Center (1993) as well as two TV movies: Angels City and Oceans of Fire.
Carver died January 8, 2021, in Los Angeles, California. He was 75.
