Stuart Whitman was an American actor.

After his tenure in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Whitman minored in drama at the Los Angeles City College.

He went on to appear in television shows including The President’s Man, Wounded Heart, Walker, Texas Ranger, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Murder, She Wrote, Knots Landing, Hemingway, Fantasy Island, S.W.A.T., Night Gallery, Cimarron Strip, and Gunsmoke.

His film credits include: Butterfly (1982), Under Siege (1980), The White Buffalo (1970), Shatter (1974), Rio Conchos (1964), The Longest Day (1962), The Comancheros (1961), The Mark (1961), The Story of Ruth (1960), Decks Ran Red (1958), Brigadoon (1954), The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), and Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941).

Whitman died March 16, 2020, in Montecito, California. He was 92.
