Thomas Mikal Ford was an actor best known for his role on the 1990s sitcom Martin, starring Martin Lawrence. For five seasons Ford played Tommy Strawn, one of Martin’s best friends.
Ford also had roles on the TV shows Kate & Allie, A Different World, New York Undercover, Booker, Law & Order, Uncle Buck, The Flash, MacGyver, Living Single, The Jamie Foxx Show, The Parkers and Judging Amy.
Additionally, he had parts in the films Harlem Nights, Across the Tracks, The Butcher’s Wife, Night and the City, Class Act and Mr. Jones.
Ford had also begun writing a series of children’s books that promoted healthy, spiritual and nonviolent living.
He died October 12, 2016, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 54.
