Todd Christensen was a football star who went on to a successful career as a sports broadcaster, including on Monday Night Football.

Christensen, who was born in Pennsylvania and grew up primarily in Oregon, was a devout Mormon. He went to college at Brigham Young University, where he was a star running back on the school's football team. After graduating, became a top tight end in the NFL, playing all but one game of his career for the Oakland Raiders. He was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams for the Raiders and appeared in five Pro Bowls.

After retiring in 1988, he went on to excel in the broadcast booth at ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN and the Mountain West Conference network.

He died November 13, 2013, at age 57.
