Tom Clancy was a bestselling author of military thrillers such as The Hunt for Red October and Patriot Games, several of which were made into feature films. He also branched into television briefly with the made-for-TV movies OP Center, The Bear and the Dragon and Tom Clancy's NetForce.
In addition, he ventured into video games with top-selling titles such as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent.
Clancy died October 1, 2013, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was 66.
