Wally Cassell, an actor best known for such 1940s movies as The Story of G.I. Joe , White Heat and The Sands of Iwo Jima.

Born Oswaldo Casellano in Sicily in 1912, he moved to the United States with his family when he was two years old.

He got his start in the movie business in 1942 and for a time was under contract with MGM. In addition to The Story of G.I. Joe , White Heat and The Sands of Iwo Jima, his other feature credits included The Clock, The Postman Always Rings Twice, National Velvet, The Guilty, Quicksand, Princess of the Nile and Until They Sail.

Beginning in the early 1950s, he also made frequent appearances on television on programs such as Mr. & Mrs. North, Schlitz Playhouse, Gunsmoke, Westinghouse Desllu Playhouse, Stories of the Century, Rescue 8, Rawhide, The Untouchables and The Beverly Hilllbillies.

He retired from acting in 1964 and went on to become a successful businessman.

Cassel died April 2, 2015, in Palm Desert, California. He was 103.
