Wendell Craig was an American voiceover actor.
After winning a guest disc jockey contest, Craig was inspired to change his college major from engineering to radio and television.
In 1966, he opened his own commercial production house and developed advertising for major agencies, eventually becoming the voice of Maxwell House and Mercedes Benz campaigns.
Craig would go on to appear on Saturday Night Live several times, including the very first episode as an announcer opposite Gilda Radner, do voiceover work for Nickelodeon in the 1980s and 1990s, and was the voice of the CBS Evening News during Dan Rather's tenure, as well as the staff announcer for CBS News for 25 years.
Craig died July 12, 2020, in New York, New York. He was 80.
