Will MacMillan was an actor best known for his role as David the firefighter in the cult classic 1973 film The Crazies. From writer-director George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead) The Crazies followed the story of a small Pennsylvania town that becomes infected by a manmade virus.
MacMillan also appeared in the film The Enforcer, starring Clint Eastwood in a continuation of the Dirty Harry film series. Additionally, he had roles in the films Tin Man, with Timothy Bottoms and Oliver Stone’s Salvador, starring James Woods.
MacMillan worked predominately in television, however, including roles on the series Three’s Company, Charlie’s Angels, Little House on the Prairie, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Hunter, Moonlighting, Fame, Hill Street Blues, Knots Landing, L.A. Law, Matlock, Diagnosis Murder, NYPD Blue, Las Vegas, The Young and the Restless and The West Wing.
He also served as artistic director of the Psychic Repertory Theatre from 1976 to 1990. On stage, he had appeared in productions of Brigadoon with Charles Durning, in 1776 with Gary Beachand in The Unsinkable Molly Brown with Cathy Rigby.
MacMillan died December 2, 2015, in Burbank, California. He was 71.
