Nixle FAQs

FAQs

What is WireWords?

Nixle’s WireWords is a business-to-customer messaging service based on mobile phone text messaging. Customers opt-in to receive real-time discounts, offers, promotions, and coupons on their cell phones, simply by text messaging a Keyword to a short telephone number, known as a Short Code. Nixle’s short code is 888777.
So, for example, a customer can text “FRANKSDELI” to 888777 and be instantly connected to receive text messages from Frank’s Corner Deli.

What is a Short Code?

A Short Code is a 5 or 6 digit number (i.e. 888777) used to send and receive text messages.

What is a Keyword?

Customers opt-in to receive messages by texting a Keyword to the Short Code. Texting a Keyword to the Short Code sends customers an automatic confirmation message to their mobile phones welcoming them to a business community.

Do I get charged to receive text messages?

Nixle does not charge you anything — and some level of text messaging is included in most wireless service plans. However, some cell phone customers may be charged by their cell phone provider if text messaging is not included in their service plan.

Can I get spammed?

No. Nixle goes to great lengths to ensure our WireWords platform is secure and completely spam-free.

Can I opt-out of receiving my text messages?

Yes. At any time you can text the word STOP to 888777 to remove yourself from and SMS list.
