EMMY TALLY: One
HOW HE GOT THE GOLD: For Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour) for Veep in 2017.
NOW THE NOMS: Miller won on his first nomination.
CURIOUS COMPANY: "I keep my Emmy on my office bookshelf next to my statue of Max Schreck as Nosferatu and my vintage Fireball XL5 lunchbox. (Yes, I have issues.) Somehow it manages to appear over my shoulder every time I have a Zoom meeting."
BEING THERE: "My memory of winning the Emmy is total shock. I wasn’t even going to go to the show, but the lovely woman who deals with awards at HBO told me she would fly me in if I was out of the country working. I said no, I was in Beverlywood. Her reply was, 'I’m sending a car, and you’d better be in it.' After I won, she was really nice about not saying, 'I told you so.'"
TEAMING WITH TED: "I’m lucky enough to have a group that I’ve worked with for a very long time, and I appreciate them every single day I see them. I’ve been working with Ted Danson since 2016, and it really has been just the most wonderful experience. We did The Good Place and Mr. Mayor together and now A Man on the Inside. The last season was even more fun with the addition of his wife, Mary Steenburgen, to the cast. Either one alone is just wonderful to work with, together it’s a complete and total dream."
