Former Television Academy Chief inducted into Hall of Distinguished Alumni
Los Angeles, CA – Former Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Chairman-CEO Dick Askin has
been inducted into the Rutgers University Alumni Federation’s Hall of
Distinguished Alumni.
The executive received the federation’s highest honor, which recognizes
superior professional and civic achievements, at a May 10 ceremony in which he was cited for his industry leadership, promoting educational outreach programs and encouraging television industry diversity.
Askin, the former president-CEO of Tribune Entertainment who now runs Askin
& Co., a consulting firm specializing in television distribution, marketing
and programming, joins such previous honorees as actor James Gandolfini, NBA
Commissioner David Stern, North Carolina State University Basketball Coach
Jim Valvano and Economist Milton Friedman.
He is also a board member of the
Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
