Social Buzz: Top TV Shows, February 1 - 7, 2015

Armchair adventures abound this week.

Who doesn’t like a little adventure in life? Whether it’s finding out your family members are Russian spies, making the journey from Taiwan to America or choosing a brand new bad guy for the FBI to put away, action-packed dramas are never more than a remote control click away. This week we look at five shows that inspired our inner adventure junkie, including Being Mary Jane, Fresh Off The Boat, Allegiance, Red Band Society, and The Blacklist.

We wondered if social fans reacted to:

  • CIA Agent Alex O’Connor discovering that his parents are knee deep in Russian interests in the series premiere of Allegiance.

  • Meeting the Huangs, A Taiwanese family making their way to America in the series premiere of Fresh Off The Boat.

  • The long awaited finale of Red Band Society, where shocking news inspired Emma and Kara to embark on fixing family issues.

  • Gabrielle Union’s character’s quest to rekindle with old friends in the premiere of Being Mary Jane.

  • FBI head Harold Cooper attempting to rescue his team from prison chaos in the premiere of The Blacklist.

The Social Totals

The Blacklist proves to be big news, as FBI thriller secures the vast majority of engagement among the shows analyzed with over 864.1K engagements total on both networks.

Active Audiences

Although FBI’s most wanted turned informant Red Reddington undoubtedly got fingers clicking, we see a much different story when we look at the social media data once audiences are normalized. Not only was The Blacklist’s fanship one of the least plugged in, but it was the tale of secrets in NBC’s Allegiance that proved to have the most active audience with over 3,200 engagements per 1K users.
