Los Angeles, CA, July 5, 2005 – Veteran television producer Ken Ehrlich (“The Grammy Awards”) has been named Executive Producer of the 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS to be broadcast Sunday, September 18, 2005 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, and Dick Askin, Chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, made the announcement today.
“We are thrilled to have a creative force like Ken Ehrlich on board to executive produce the 57th ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS,” said Tassler. “Ken has helped take the Grammy telecast to untold heights and has produced notable musical and entertainment specials for some of the most popular artists of our time. We’re confident that his experience and vision will bring a fresh perspective to this year’s Emmy broadcast.”
“Ken Ehrlich is one of the leading producers of event-related specials for television and we are looking forward to working with him to create an exciting Emmy telecast,” commented Askin. “His work on ‘The Grammy Awards’ speaks for itself and he has consistently delivered quality programming that has aired to public and critical acclaim.”
Ehrlich, who recently executive produced “The 47th Annual Grammy Awards,” is one of the industry’s most accomplished producers of specials, concerts and notable live events. He has produced 25 Grammy Award telecasts and created and produced the “MTV Movie Awards,” “VH1 Honors” and VH1’s acclaimed “Divas” series.
Additional credits include “Genius: A Night for Ray Charles,” “Sports Illustrated’s 20th Century Sports Awards” and “The Fifth Annual Latin Grammy Awards,” on the Network, as well as “The Blockbuster Awards,” “The Alma Awards” and “Fashion Rocks,” among numerous other awards shows and tributes. He has also produced music specials for artists including Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Elton John, The Backstreet Boys, Shania Twain and Ricky Martin on the Network, as well as for *NSYNC, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and Christina Aguilera, among others.
Ehrlich has also been involved in the creation and production of the music-related series “Motown Live,” “The Dennis Miller Show” and the landmark series “Fame” and produced the series of specials “Women Rock! Girls & Guitars” as well as several episodes of “Intimate Portraits” profiling female musical artists. This will mark Ehrlich’s second time producing the Primetime Emmy Awards. He produced the “32nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” in 1980.

The 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS is being produced by Ken Ehrlich Productions. Nominations for the 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS will be announced July 14 at 5:39 a.m. (PT) from the Academy’s Leonard H. Goldstein Theatre in North Hollywood.
