Did you know that all members of the Television Academy can judge the 52nd Daytime Emmys? For Television Academy members, judging sign up will remain open through and including May 22!
NATAS is now accepting applications for judges! Members of the Television Academy are automatically qualified but NATAS administration needs information both on interest and on background in order to appropriately place judges on panels according to the areas of expertise. Judges are assigned to approximately 3 categories based on expertise and have several weeks to login, watch the submissions, and give each submission a score. Judges are NOT asked to "pick 5," rank, select a favorite, or compare entries to each other.
THIS DOCUMENT on Judging 101 answers some basic questions such as:
What is the difference between "judging" for Daytime and "voting" for Primetime?
Do I qualify?
What categories will I judge?
What is the time commitment?
When is the deadline to sign up?
THIS DOCUMENT outlines the step-by-step process of signing up to judge. The Daytime Emmys/NATAS contests use Orthicon, which is located at enter.theemmys.tv and is NOT related to the Primetime voting. If you've signed up in Orthicon before, your account carries over year to year and if you haven't, you will need to sign up this year.
We understand the sign-up process is cumbersome but NATAS administration needs to be able to identify at least your TVA member status and Peer Group in order to appropriately place you. After signing up, please expect a week-plus wait as NATAS will be individually reviewing and approving each application. You will receive an email when you are approved and then a second email when judging actually opens on MAY 22nd. Judging will be completed prior to the opening of Primetime nomination voting in June.
