Jeffrey Hodes, a writer and producer for several top television comedies, died September 14, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. He was 46.
Hodes was a writer, producer and showrunner for such series as 3rd Rock from the Sun, Hope & Faith, According to Jim, Rita Rocks and Happily Divorced, which he worked on with his wife and writing partner, Nastara Dibai.
A member of the WGA, he also co-authored several network pilots, including Funny in Farsi for ABC.
Hodes was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and graduated with a degree in music from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
Upon completion of his studies in music, he decided to change course and pursue a career in writing.
He met Dibai, in August 1989 and they were married in May 1990.
She survives him, as does their 16-year-old daughter, Katrina.
