The Television Academy today announced several new categories to be added to the awards, as well as rules changes and increased the number of nominees in several categories.
Reflecting the dramatic growth in storytelling options across the expanding television landscape, the Academy recently voted to add several short form categories.
In adition, the number of nominees in directing and writing categories in drama and comedy was uncreased from five to six.
All changes will take effect with the 2016 awards season.
