Corny Cole. Renowned Animator and Teacher

After an acclaimed career with such companies as Disney, Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera, Cole joined the faculty of California Institute of the Arts.

Corneluis "Corny" Cole, an animator and production designer who worked with several of the top companies in his field, died August 11, 2011. He was 80.

According to news reports, the cause was Multiple System Atrophy.

In 2006, Cole received the Winsor McCay Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Animated Film Society.

Over the years he worked on numerous feature films and television programs for such companies as Disney, United Productions of America, Warner Brothers, MGM, DePatie-Freling and Hanna-Barbera.

In later years, Cole joined the faculty of California Institute of the Arts, where he taught character animation and figure drawing from 1992 to 2009.
