David Connell, a character actor who worked extensively in both film and television, died May 11, 2013, in Los Angeles. He was 77.
Connell, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, got his start at Karamu House, the oldest African-American theater in the United States. He moved to New York, where he continued to work on the stage before moving to Los Angeles to pursue film and television.
Connell's film credits included The Cross and the Switchblade and Wolfen.
On television, he appeared in such series as Martin, Arli$$, NYPD Blue, Boston Legal and United States of Tara.
