Denny Hall, a cinematographer with more than 20 years of experience in the television industry, died October 20, 2011, while shooting the USA Network series Common Law in New Orleans. He was 54.
According to news reports, Hall, who at the time was working on the second episode of the show, had a heart attack in his hotel. His roommate, a camera operator, called for paramedics, who were unable to revive Hall.
Hall, a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, had been a director of photography more than a decade, and worked primarily in television. In addition to Common Law, his other credits included The X-Files, Close to Home, Bones, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Eli Stone, The Cleaner, Eastwick, Burn Notice and Franklin & Bash.
Born in Los Angeles on July 26, 1956, Hall began his Hollywood career as a camera operator on such series as Diagnosis Murder, Beverly Hills, 92010, Melrose Place, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, CSI: Miami and Monk.
He is survived by his wife and a son.
