Frank Brill, a veteran entertainment executive for several decades, died December 15, 2009, at his home in Beverly Hills. He was 91 years old.
Born in New York City, Brill began his career in Miami Beach as a dancer. He later returned to New York, where he went to work at the talent agency MCA and became one of the “Lew Wasserman Boys,” so named for their relationship with the agency’s renowned chief, Lew Wasserman.
In 1970, Brill was associate producer of the feature film A Man Called Horse, starring Richard Harris.
Later in the decade, he was vice president of talent and specials at ABC.
In the early 1980s, Brill partnered with director Art Fisher in Fisher/Brill Productions.
His credits during the 1980s included the 1984 TV movie Family Secrets, starring Stephanie Powers, Maureen Stapleton, James Spader and Melissa Gilbert.
In 1990, he worked with Gilbert again on another TV movie, Without Her Consent.
Brill also served as the head of entertainment at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and held an executive position at Management 3.
In addition to his professional achievements, Brill was a dedicated volunteer and supporter of Five Acres, a children's aid society, in Los Angeles, and numerous other humanitarian causes.
