Kaye Stevens, a singer and actress who made frequent appearances on television, died December 28, 2011, in The Villages, Florida. She was 79.
According to news reports, the cause was breast cancer.
Stevens broke into show business as a drummer and singer, and later married the bandleader and trumpet player Tommy Amato, with whom she regularly performed.
She eventually began performing in Las Vegas, and was for a time associated with the "Rat Pack," including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Joey Bishop.
Stevens also scored acting roles in movies and television. She made her feature film debut in the 1962 release The Interns. Two years later she received a Golden Globe nomination for its sequel, The New Interns.
Her television credits included The Jerry Lewis Show, Days of Our Lives, Police Woman, CHiPS and B.L. Stryker.
In addition, she made frequent appearances on TV talk shows, variety shows and game shows.
