Corey McGriff, a hip-hop radio and television personality who went by the name of DJ Megatron, was shot and killed outside his home in Staten Island, New York, on March 27, 2011. He was 32.
According to news reports, McGriff was on his way to a nearby store at about 2:00 a.m. when the shooting occurred. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
No arrests have been made at this time.
McGriff was a popular on-air personality at urban radio station Hot 97 in New York. He also had worked at stations in Philadelphia and Boston.
On television, he was a regular part of the BET music countdown show 106 & Park, as the host of a segment called “What's Good.” He also hosted BET’s online show On Blast.
As an actor, he had roles in feature films that included State Property 2, Blood of a Champion, Killa Season and City Jewels.
