Roger D. Fisher, a Harvard law professor who created the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning public television program, The Advocates, died August 25, 2012, in Hanover, N.H. He was 90.
According to news reports, the cause of death was complications from dementia.
Fisher conceived The Advocates, a weekly public affairs series presented in a debate-style format, in 1969, and served as executive producer through 1974. He returned for a bi-weekly incarnation of the show from 1978 to ’79.
In addition, Fisher co-wrote the 1981 bestseller Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In and co-founded the Harvard Negotiation Project, now the Program on Negotiation a Harvard Law School.
