Top Exec Re-Ups at NATPE

Los Angeles, CA – Rick Feldman, president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) since April 2003, has signed a multiyear agreement to continue as head of the broadcasting association.

The joint announcement was made by NATPE Co-Chairs Emerson Coleman, vice president, programming, Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc., and Stephen Davis, president, mobile and online media, InfoSpace, Inc.—both of whom lauded Feldman’s achievements thus far and his overall leadership.

At NATPE, Feldman oversees the day-to-day operations and strategic planning of the organization worldwide activities, as well as its annual Conference & Exhibition.

Prior to his tenure at NATPE, Feldman was executive vice president and chief operating officer of USA Broadcasting in Los Angeles. Feldman moved to USA after 16 years at KCOP-TV/Los Angeles.

He started at KCOP in 1983 as general sales manager, and in 1987 was promoted to vice president and station manager. He became president and general manager of KCOP in 1993. Under Feldman’s stewardship, KCOP garnered more than 30 Emmy Awards for its locally produced programming.

Before KCOP, Mr. Feldman served as vice president and sales manager with Metromedia in New York, and was a promotion manager for WJZ-TV/Baltimore. Feldman, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University, began his career as a media buyer at Ted Bates Advertising in New York.
