What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I grew up during what I consider the golden age of children's television, when Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network were creating shows that became cultural phenomena. Watching those networks build programming that an entire generation still references today shaped how I understood storytelling and branding. What really drew me to television was seeing how it brings people together: my family connecting over shows, friends bonding over shared moments, entire communities finding common ground. I wanted to be part of an industry that creates those experiences and brings stories to audiences in meaningful ways.

I’ve always wanted to become an animator, but only recently have I come to appreciate how powerful television is as a medium. Watching shows, especially animated ones, with friends and building community around it is a really special experience; I’d love to contribute to that by helping create characters, stories, and visuals that people connect with.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
Since I could walk, I wanted to be an actor; no one could have told me otherwise. However in high school, I also began writing scripts and collaborating on film sets. This helped me realize that I wanted to be a part of the television-making process from the very beginning and to have more of a say in what gets told and how. Thanks to amazing teachers and inspirations like Phoebe Waller-Bridge, I believe these goals can become a reality.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
It all started when my middle school theater director, Patrick Campbell, made me his assistant. When I was little, I always thought that acting would be a fun hobby, but once I got behind the scenes, I found that entertainment was really my life's passion. I'm so thankful to Mr. Campbell for starting me on this path and to my friends and family for all of their support throughout this journey!

Whether it's a hard-hitting drama series, a surprisingly intense competition show, or a riveting true crime story, television has been my favorite entertainment format. What inspired you to seek a career in television?
My favorite TV show has been How I Met Your Mother for as long as I can remember. There's just something about falling in love with perfectly imperfect characters as they go throughout numerous ups and downs that has always inspired me. Watching that show made me realize that I, too, wanted to create stories with characters that inspire people to take their destiny into their own hands and trust that everything will work out.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
Growing up in Studio City, surrounded by Hollywood and all of its magic, I feel like this dream was seeded from a very young age. But I would definitely say my mom is my biggest inspiration. I truly owe it all to her. She worked in broadcast TV covering the early morning breaking news and even won two Emmys (which is actually what I’m named after), so it all feels very full circle. I feel so incredibly lucky to have such a driven, inspiring role model who sparked my passion.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I hail from a long tradition of African orators, living room actors, and part-time performers. Unknowingly, these dynamic experiences have shaped my voice as a storyteller. As I begin to tell my tale, it's only natural that I want to partake in stories that embody my aunt's cadence of speech, paint my uncle's wrinkles, and celebrate my grandmother's laugh.

I've been taking lessons from the same piano teacher since I was 7 years old. What inspired you to seek a career in television?
My inspiration for a career in television was my own journaling; there was a structure to it that for a long time I couldn’t figure out. They were dialogue-heavy, and showed characters in my life grow, change, and survive circumstances that they didn’t choose. I began to write alternate endings, but found myself drawn to the original ones where growth and conflict coexisted. It was the most imperfect stories that had meaning, and I found television to be the perfect medium to tell them.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
Some of the fondest memories I have with my family and friends are sitting on the couch together watching the newest episodes of the shows we loved on Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and TLC. Shows like Regular Show, Gravity Falls, and Cake Boss all connected us emotionally. Today, that same feeling remains whenever we sit down to watch shows like The Bear, Love on the Spectrum, or Severance. What inspires me most about television is its ability to connect people through storytelling, and the single aspect that interested me most was sound. The way music, dialogue, and sound effects come together to heighten emotion and deepen what we see on screen is often overlooked. I found a deeper appreciation for this in my professor Bill Wolter’s Sound for Film class, where I learned how much work goes into even a single minute of a scene. That experience gave me a lasting respect for the craft of sound, and I haven’t looked at storytelling the same way since. I hope to contribute to stories through sound in a way that moves and connects with audiences the same way television has always moved me.

Originally from Florida, I moved 2,000 miles away with the sole intention of making movies and never expected to end up in television. Freshman year, I stumbled into a production course called “Game Show” taught by reality TV producer JD Roth, and I never looked back. What inspired you to seek a career in television?
What inspired me to pursue a career in television was realizing how powerfully the medium can shape understanding of people and communities. Growing up in South Georgia, I rarely saw stories that reflected the complexity of my experiences as someone navigating both Black and Vietnamese identities. Discovering television that challenged that absence, especially shows like Atlanta, showed me that the medium could portray communities with honesty, nuance, and emotional depth. My interest deepened through my work in journalism at CNN, where I saw how visual storytelling could bring urgency and humanity to breaking news. That combination of creative possibility and real-world impact is what ultimately drew me toward television.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I've been editing since I was twelve, starting with YouTube videos and short skits with friends in middle school, so I always knew that I liked storytelling. But growing up Korean American in Los Angeles and seeing other Korean directors like Bong Joon Ho and Lee Isaac Chung make it to the highest levels of cinema opened a door in my mind that I don't think I could have opened on my own. Then Lee Sung Jin's Beef came along and showed me what was possible for those who wrote raw, funny, uncomfortable, and completely uncompromising stories. Those directors are the reason I believe that the stories I want to tell will eventually find their way in this industry.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I was inspired to pursue a career in television because storytelling has played a meaningful role in helping me understand myself and the world around me. George Lucas created the Star Wars universe, which showed me how stories can explore identity, belonging, and resilience in a deeply personal way. The writing of Andor by Tony Gilroy, along with Adolescence, further showed me how television can reflect complex emotional and social realities with honesty and depth. These stories shaped how I see the power of television and first made me want to understand how meaningful storytelling is created.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
My undergraduate professor, Cedric Rembert, is who truly inspired me to pursue a career in television. I had my doubts at first, being a Black woman from a small town who attended an HBCU, and I often questioned if there was space for me in the industry. He had a tough love approach, but he always kept it real with me and pushed me to think bigger. I remember him telling me to stop limiting myself to mass communications and to go out to Los Angeles and make a name for myself, reminding me, “If others are getting projects made with half your talent, imagine what you could do if you went all in.” That mindset has stayed with me ever since.

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
I’d write scripts and perform them for my family to convince them to overhaul their entire lives and move to Hollywood to pursue my dreams as an actress, but my mom insisted I become a writer instead. After my passion for acting fizzled out, I struggled to choose a person to interview for a high school career project. My aunt, who lived in LA, suggested I interview her neighbor Jonathan Glatzer, just to see if I’d be interested in TV writing as a potential life path. The rest is history!

What inspired you to seek a career in television?
Growing up being a kid who preferred staying indoors, television was my escape from reality as I immersed myself to be in the characters’ stories and backgrounds. It helped me find confidence in ways I hadn’t yet grown into, and it nurtured the imagination that eventually blossomed into my passion for writing. As I grew older, I experimented with acting out scenes with my dolls. Soon after that, I gravitated towards writing scenarios in my notebook. Television didn’t just entertain me, it taught me empathy, perspective-taking, and the joy of stepping into someone else’s shoes for a while.
