105 – Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program
106 – Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour)
107 – Sound Mixing for a Limited or Anthology Series or a Movie
108 – Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation
109 – Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special
110 – Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program
111 – Sound Mixing for a Reality Program

General Requirements:

  • Consideration for Emmy Awards is conditioned on timely delivery of a correctly prepared digital file.

  • Failure to deliver correct masters on time may result in your submission not being judged.

  • Quality Assurance within the Awards portal is the responsibility of the nominee. Failure to provide correctly prepared submissions will result in you being required to immediately resubmit a new master or incurring the financial responsibility of a corrected master being prepared.

  • Content must be presented as it was in its initial premiere broadcast. Revised versions or edited re-broadcasts are not permitted.

Upload Instructions:

  1. Log in to the Awards site.

  2. Click "Video Upload" in the left menu to upload your videos.

  3. Click "My Nominations" to see your nominated entries.

  4. Click into a nominated entry to attach the uploaded video and fill out any required information.

  5. After reviewing the video and data, click "Submit Video Entry".

EDITING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHOWS LONGER THAN 1 HOUR:
Programs that run longer than one hour must be edited down to one hour. You may submit either a single one-hour bloc, or up to two blocs totaling one hour.

Example: if a program runs 100 minutes, you may choose to include a single 60-minute bloc, two 30-minute blocs, a 35-minute bloc and a 25-minute bloc, and so on.

  • Separate multiple blocs with 2-5 seconds of black

  • Replace all commercials and interstitials with to 2-5 seconds of black

  • No color bars and slates; file should be programming only

DELIVERY SPECIFICATION:
QuickTime File

  • QuickTime ProRes file

  • 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 picture resolution

  • 29.97 {Native}, 23.976 {Native} or 24 {Native} frame rates

  • Note: Please supply Native Frame rates. Do not send a 23.98 to 29.97 conversion.

  • Embedded PCM audio (5.1 or 2-channel)

  • If there is no 5.1, send only the 2-channel audio

5.1 Audio:
If uploading videos with 5.1, the audio must be in one of the following formats:

  • 2 streams, one with 2 channels, one with 6 channels

  • 1 stream, 8 channels (layout specified below)

  • 8 streams, 1 channel each (layout specified below)

5.1 Audio Channel Order:
5.1 audio MUST follow the channel listing below:

  • Channel 1 – Left

  • Channel 2 – Right

  • Channel 3 – Center

  • Channel 4 – LFE

  • Channel 5 – Left Surround

  • Channel 6 – Right Surround

  • Channel 7 – Stereo Left

  • Channel 8 – Stereo Right
