Alan Sacks was an Emmy-winning writer and producer who worked on television productions and films. After starting as an ABC programming executive, he was the network's youngest series creator with Welcome Back, Kotter.
He wrote episodes of Welcome Back, Kotter and Riders in the Sky. Sacks wrote television movies including "Pixel Perfect," and films like "Thrashin'" and "Du-beat-e-o."
Sacks served as a producer on series including Chico and the Man, Riders in the Sky, ABC Weekend Specials, ABC Afterschool Specials and KSM: Read Between the Lines. He also produced television movies including "The Family Kovack," "Women at West Point," "A Cry for Love," "Leave 'em Laughing," "Smart House," "Camp Rock" and its sequel "Camp Rock The Final Jam," and "The Color of Friendship," which was honored with an Emmy, Humanitas Award, and NAACP Image Award.
Alan’s final project was the wildly successful true crime/punk rock podcast produced with Imagine Entertainment Peter & The Acid King.
