Ian Brennan is an Emmy, BAFTA, and WGA-nominated writer/showrunner/producer who has become one of the leading television creators. He is the co-creator and showrunner of the acclaimed Netflix series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The first installment of the anthology series is only the third title in Netflix history to cross the 1 billion hour viewing mark within 60 days, spent seven weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10, and picked up 13 nominations for the 75th Emmy awards.
Following the massive success of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix ordered two additional installments of the record-breaking anthology series from Brennan. The second season, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, premiered fall 2024 and was nominated for a Golden Globe in the category of Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series. The series also picked up 11 nominations for the 76th Emmy awards. Monster: The Ed Gein Story, recently premiered this fall following the notorious serial killer Ed Gein, starring Charlie Hunnam. The fourth installment of the series will focus on Lizzie Borden, the anthology's first female-led installment, starring Ella Beatty.
Previously, Brennan co-created and served as showrunner of the Netflix series The Watcher, starring Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale. He also created and served as showrunner of Scream Queens, which aired on Fox.
