He was best known for his work on Seinfeld, which included directing acclaimed episodes such as "The Chinese Restaurant" and "The Contest." Cherones also directed episodes of Ellen, Caroline in the City, and NewsRadio. Some of the other television shows on which he worked include Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Growing Pains, and Desperate Housewives.
