Emanuel Steward, a boxing trainer who worked with champion fighters and commented on fights for HBO Sports, died October 25, 2012, in Chicago. He was 68.
According to news reports, Steward had been hospitalized since September, and had undergone surgery.
Steward, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, worked with such fighters Thomas Hearns, Lennox Lewis, Oscar De La Hoya and Wladimir Klitschko.
The West Virginia native also owned the renowned Kronk Gym in Detroit.
SInce 2001, Steward had worked for HBO Sports, where he commented on fights with announced Jim Lampley.
