Michele O'Callaghan, a makeup artist who worked for many year on The Late Show with David Letterman, died December 16, 2011. She was 48.
According to news reports, that cause was cancer.
O'Callaghan, who began working on Letterman's late-night talk show in 1991, not only did makeup for the star more than 3,000 times, she sometimes appeared in skits on the show.
Upon her passing, Letterman delivered a heartfelt tribute to her on his show.
