Producer Joe Boston Dies

The versatile television pro worked on The Hardy Boys and many other series.

Joe Boston, who produced ABC’s The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries and other series, died July 14, 2010, in Torrance, California. He was 74.

Boston, who attended the University of North Carolina, also produced several episodes of the 1970s series Sword of Justice, BJ and the Bear and The Master.

He started as an assistant director on series including Ironside and Marcus Welby M.D. and became a production manager on Quincy, Dirty Dozen: The Series and such telefilms as Everybody’s Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure.

In later years Boston, who was a member of the Directors Guild, worked on several installments of Erotic Confessions.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, two grandchildren and a sister.
