Richard Welsh, a producer who was a key figure at Hallmark Hall of Fame, for whom he oversaw dozens of made-for-television movies, died April 13, 2012.
As creative leader of Hallmark Hall of Fame from 1982 to 2007, Welsh executive produced 43 of the 75 organization's original movies.
His credits included To Dance with the White Dog, Breathing Lessons, The Piano Lesson, What the Deaf Man Heard, The Blackwater Lightship and many others.
Welsh earned four Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Made for Television Movie. In 1994 for Breathing Lessons and To Dance with the White Dog; in 1995 for The Piano Lesson; and in 1998 for What the Deaf Man Heard.
