Bob Mackie was an American fashion designer and costumer. His long and distinguished career in television including being the costumer designer for The Carol Burnett Show during its entire 11-year run. He also designed the costumes for its spinoff, Mama's Family. His collaborations with numerous entertainment icons also led him to work on many TV series and specials including The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, Donnie and Marie, and "Fresno."

Mackie's decades-long collaboration with Cher also resulted in him winning a Tony Award for "The Cher Show." Other celebrated figures with whom he collaborated include Joan Rivers, Cher, RuPaul, Barbara Eden, Bette Midler, Diana Ross, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Tina Turner, and Mitzi Gaynor.

Bob Mackie was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2002.
